Gerrymandering
How politicians choose their voters, instead of the way it should be - voters choosing politicians.
Gerrymandering is when congressional districts, or any district, is drawn deliberately to silence the will of the voters. The vast majority of Representatives don’t need to campaign, because their districts were drawn to keep their party in power regardless of what the people want.
In 1996 and 2012, more people voted for Democratic Congress people, yet the Republican party took control of the House of Representatives.
This is Undemocratic, and must be changed.
There are many solutions, and the US has a particular problem with underrepresenting marginalized groups, but what we have now does not work.
